What’s is a Fraternity?
A fraternity is a group of men with common goals and aspirations. The members that form a fraternity share their efforts, friendship and knowledge. Their common experience builds ties that last a lifetime.
What is rush?
Rush is a term that basically means recruiting. When people 'rush' a fraternity, they are trying to join that organization. This can be done many different ways, but usually fraternities will have events during Showcase Week.
Can only Freshmen rush?
No! Theta Chi accepts students of all ages. The only requirement is to be an undergraduate student at the University of Cincinnati.
What is a bid?
A bid is an invitation to join a greek organization. Theta Chi will extend a bid to potential members to join their Fraternity. A bid can be accepted or denied.
What is a Pledge?
A 'pledge' or new member is a person who has accepted their bid but has not yet become an initiated member of Theta Chi.
What is Theta Chi's Hazing Policy?
Theta Chi Fraternity will not tolerate any hazing-related activity which demeans, embarrasses, threatens, frightens, implies one member is superior to another or that initiation must be earned through personal services or meaningless activities for initiated members.
How much time commitment is there?
There isn't much of a huge time commitment but you get out what you put in. The more you are involved, the more fun you will have and the more opportunities will come your way.
